click hereCleint: Golden Spread Elec Co-Op
Application: Natural Gas Power Plant
Location: Abernathy, TX
Project Summary:
Installed general building ventilation equipment for turbine building
Installed specialized HVAC for conditioned interior spaces.
(4) Large CRVs 144’-0” run of 72” Throat Width
(1) Centrifugal Wall Mount - Model UCEBW-12-1/4, 12” diameter
(2) Hooded Roof Exhaust Fan 48” diameter
(1) Two-Way Diffuser - 36 Model DF-45-1
Project Profile:
Golden Spread Electric Cooperative built a 170 MW Gas-Fired Power Plant to produce energy for over 200,000 customers. The facility utilizes 18 gas turbines to produce desired output.
Moffitt Mechanical installed a ventilation system provided by Moffitt Corporation consisting of a natural roof mounted ventilator and wall supply fans to pressurize the facility and provide intake air for the turbines. The design utilized at this facility is a near duplicate to a ventilation system provided by Moffitt for South Texas Electric Cooperative.
In addition to the general plant ventilation Moffitt Mechanical designed, supplied and installed HVAC products for interior conditioned spaces consisting of MCC Rooms, Switchgear Rooms, Battery Rooms and compressor rooms.
Moffitt Mechanical then finished the project with test/balance and startup/commissioning of these areas to ensure reliability. With Moffitt, you will know your system works.

Cleint: Edwardsport
Application: IGCC Power Plant
Location: Edwardsport, IN
Project Summary:
General HVAC - Steam Turbine & Gasification Structure
Explosion Proof HVAC - Coal Grinding and Slurry Buildings
Source Capture with Stainless Steel Ductwork
Electrical Power & Control Wiring for HVAC
Start-Up Service
Project Profile:
Moffitt designed, supplied and installed a unique, automated ventilation system for this large Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) power plant in Edwardsport, Indiana. IGCC is a cutting-edge technology that turns coal into a synthesis gas (syngas) to improve the efficiency of the energy creation process. This process results in very high temperatures and requires a sophisticated ventilation system to keep it the optimal temperature.
Moffitt Mechanical supplied & installed a motor control center to operate the ventilation system in the steam turbine generator building. This system consisted of interlocking several different mechanisms, all supplied by Moffitt, such as wall louvers, roof fans and electric unit heaters. To ensure worker safety and a safe operating temperature for the power turbines all of these components must work as one.
The mechanisms are activated one of three ways: from a control box, automatic activation when the facility reaches a certain temperature or when the sensor in the gasification tower hits its limit. This helps keep the interior area properly ventilated in the safest and most efficient manner.
Moffitt Mechanical was able to install a complete ventilation system meeting all of the unique requirements of this facility. Contact Moffitt about meeting your facility’s needs today.
Cleint: World Kitchen
Application: Manufacturing Plant
Location: Corning, NY
Equipment Summary:
Qty 1 CRV110”-0” run of 180” size
Qty 35 Wall LouversAverage 121.88 sq. ft.
Project Profile:
World Kitchen, Corning, NY facility manufacturesdinnerware and baking accessories from a hub laminatingprocess from three glass layers. This process producesextreme amounts of heat. Moffitt was contacted by WorldKitchen to design and provide a natural ventilation system tocorrespond with a new furnace upgrade.
Equipment was produced at our manufacturing facilityMoffitt Fan, located in Leroy, NY only 90 miles from WorldKitchen facility. Our installation company MoffittMechanical installed the equipment providing World Kitchenwith a single source turn-key system.
Moffitt Mechanical was able to install the vent on the roofwithout removing the roof sheeting until installation wascomplete; this installation took place within an approximate22 work days. Moffitt erected the wind brand frames atground level. Following this, a GC crane was used to hoistand set base frames, while covering was in place, as well asthe pre-assembled wind band frames.
This vent is the largest vent Moffitt manufactures andassembles. This unique design approach allowed furnacework to continue within the facility without concern ofoutdoor elements entering facility or safety hazard fromwork occurring directly above heads.Contact the Moffitt team today to build a long lastingventilation solution.
Application: Merchandise Warehouse
Location: Jacksonville, Florida
Equipment Summary:
(10) 48” Wall exhaust fans(16) 48” Hooded roof supply fansw/duct drops
(10) 48” Hooded roof supply fans
(2) 10’ x 20’ Labyrinth Natural Ventilator
(1) 10’ x 25’ Labyrinth Natural Ventilator
Project Profile:
Moffitt was approached in 2010 by a growing businessthat had expanded into an existing facility. The facilityneeded to be converted from a warehouse used to storegrocery items to what is now a merchandise distributioncenter used for light manufacturing, storage and shipping.
This retrofit ventilation project was ideal for Moffitt’spressure-gravity system, which combines mechanical andnatural ventilation products. This system pressurizes thebuilding with fresh air at the operating levels and exhauststhe heat at the roof level.
Moffitt used a zone-by-zone approach to design thisproject allowing critical areas to be addressed first andnon-critical areas to follow as budgets allow.
Moffitt Mechanical, a sister company ofMoffitt Corporation, was able to provide installation on thisproject creating a full turn-key system by Moffitt.
As this company continues to grow, Moffitt continues toprovide effective ventilation solutions to meet their needs.Contact Moffitt today to score your ventilation solution.Application: Merchandise WarehouseLocation: Jacksonville, Floridawww
Application: Data Center
Location: Quincy, Washington
Equipment Summary:
1 Labyrinth - Natural Ventilator - only 144” Wide x 120’ Long
12 Only 8’-6” Wide x 63’-1” Long
Project Profile:
Moffitt Corporation was approached bya local engineer and a local contractor toventilate a new data center in Quincy,Washington. Data centers produce alot of heat, without proper ventilation itcould be detrimental to the data hostersand the clients they serve.
The Labyrinth is one of many naturalventilation products that Moffitt offers. Itwas ideal for this project due to high airflow coefficient and its lightweightdesign. The Labyrinth is constructed ofaluminum, limiting the impact on the roofstructure.
Don’t let a lack of ventilation become afailure error. Let Moffitt design theventilation on your data center, it’s theNatural solution.
